Shore Stuff
Lacey - (41 Champs - Last: Gutierrez, Luke Moynihan, Luke Gauthier, Ceglie in 2018 / 1 Team Title in 1999)
Hunter Gutierrez aims for a historic weekend. The senior needs just one win to break the school record of 129 held by former teammate Luke Moynihan (2015-2018). He is also aiming to become the first 4-time District Champion in Lacey history. He has a big hurdle in his 4-time quest as he is the 2-seed to the top-seeded Cooper Pontelandolfo of Cherokee. Gutierrez is one of four 2-seeds for the Lions as Jackson Brandt (170), Quint Kearns (182) and Vin Ceglie (220) also received #2's, while Brady Carter (106) and Trevor Krinic (160) received #3's.
TOP 4 SEEDS
2: Gutierrez (132) / Brandt (170) / Kearns (182) / Ceglie (220)
3: B Carter (106) / Krinic (160)
TR North - (66 Champs - Last: Rosenthal, Reilly, Boggiano, Juan Nakano in 2018 / 2 Team Titles - Last: 2018)
The Mariners won their 1st District Team Title in 47 years last season, but will have a difficult go in an attempt at a repeat with Paulsboro now in their District. When you think of all the big names that have come through TRN over the years, it's hard to believe they've never had a 4-time District Champ. Senior Nick Reilly will attempt to become the first for the Mariners. He will have to do so from the #2 seed, as returning State qualifier Andrew Aromando of Cherokee is at the #1. Junior Nick Boggiano is also alive in the 4-time hunt, but he'll obviously need to get #3 first. He is one of five top-seeds for North along with Louie Gagliardo (106), Ryan Rosenthal (113), Jack Oleske (160), and John O'Donnell (Hwt).
TOP 4 SEEDS
1: Gagliardo (TRN) / Rosenthal (TRN) / Boggiano (145) / Oleske (160) / O'Donnell (Hwt)
2: Reilly (120)
3: Spalletta (152)
4: Nakano (195)
Weight To Watch
There are a lot of solid weights here, and the potential for some great finals matchups, so it's tough to pick out just one, but I'll say 120 here as all nine entrants are double-digit winners, with all but one being + .500.
Team Title Prediction
This is a very strong field, but Paulsboro is filthy-loaded and the heavy favorite to win the Team Title.
