The Piners had multiple District Medalist last season for the first time since 2015. If the seeds hold, the Piners can extend that streak as they received a pair of #3 seeds in Edgar Silva at 120, and David Olivares at 145.

The Green Wave have had four champs in each of the past two seasons. Senior Ryan Zimmerman enters the tournament with 136 career victories, two away from taking over 3rd place all time at Long Branch. He is one of four LB wrestlers looking for their 2nd District Title, which would make them the first multi-time District Champs since heavyweight John Tomlinson went back-to-back in 2015 and 2016. 

Neptune has had multiple Region Qualifiers for the last four seasons. They landed a pair of wrestlers in placing seeds with sophomore Nate Levie, who finished 3rd last year, at the #2 spot at 132 and junior heavyweight Isaias Thomas-Palafox earning the 3-seed.

Beach matched a program-high with three champs last season, and all three of those champs are back. This gives the Gulls three shots at getting their first multiple-time District Champ since Matt Rega won his 3rd back in 2006. The Gulls also had eight medal winners at last year's Districts for the 2nd consecutive season. Earlier this season, Jesse Bowers became the program's 4th wrestler to reach 100 career wins, he should be joined in that club this weekend by Jason Sherlock, who enters the Districts with a Gretzky (that's 99 for you non-hockey fans).

The Panthers are tied with Southern Regional for the 2nd longest active streak with a District Champ at 23 seasons. If senior Ty Bailey can repeat as champion, the three wins will move him to 4th on Pt Boro's all-time wins list, and just one behind #3 Sean Brand.

It has been a long time since St Rose had their one and only District Champ, and it will take one heck of a run to end that drought. The Roses will take their best shot though at trying to get their first District Medal since Nick Greenquist finished 2nd at Districts in 2012.

At 132 the top seed is Hightstown's Kether Thornton, a 2-time runner-up. #2 is Neptune's Nate Levie, who placed 3rd as a freshman last year, and scored a pin over #3 Riley Simon on Pt Beach, a 2-time District runner-up, at the Shore Conference Tournament. The 4/5 quarterfinal matchup is between LB's sophomore, Angel Bonnano, and Pt Boro freshman Jack Thompson, who both picked up some big wins for their teams in the dual season. And we also have another promising freshman at the #6 seed in 20-bout winner Cole Cifrodelli if Robbinsville.
