One of the Shore Conference's all-time great rivalries gets another postseason chapter added to it. The last time these two met in the postseason was in 2018 CJG4 Semis, when a freshman named Vin Santaniello sealed the deal with a walk-off pin for a 39-28 Stangs win, avenging a regular season loss to the Jags. The last time these two met with a Sectional Title on the line was the 2017 season, with the Jags taking nine bouts for a 34-22 victory.

The Jags were said to have looked very sharp in their semis win over Long Branch, and they will need that to carry over into Friday night if they are to reverse the 26-point loss from last month, on a night where just about everything went Brick Memorial's way. Something to keep an eye on that came out from the match against Long Branch was Brad Galassi wrestling down at 195 for the first time this season, making them a little more difficult to match up against, strategy-wise, in that 195-220 position.

The Stangs, who have most Sectional Titles all-time in the Shore with 15,  had a couple new faces in the lineup in their semifinal win over Colts Neck, as sophomore Michael Angrosina, a starter in 2019, and Nick Torre, who was 5th in Region 6 wrestling at Pt Boro last year, both made their season debuts, strengthening the lineup for the postseason run.

No doubt the atmosphere for a Sectional Final at Brick Memorial is going to be electric, but it should get an even bigger charge with the rival Jags in the gym. With the history between these two, you know just about anything can happen, so this should be another good one.
