TOP 10 MATCHUP

#6 Manalapan Braves  (10-1)  at  #10 Shore Regional Blue Devils  (10-0)

Whoever scheduled this match before the season started, gets a raise. Whoever decided to have it on a Friday night, gets a bonus with the raise. Manalapan and Shore Regional meet for the first time since a pair of duals in 2014.

The Braves are off to a 10-1 start and are coming off a 37-25 win over rival Colts Neck on Tuesday night. The Blue Devils had a busy Tuesday night of their own, pulling off one of the biggest wins in the program's history when they defeated then #7 Ocean Township for their first ever win against a ranked opponent.

Looking at the matchups, the most intriguing lineup question is how Manalapan handles their duo of Kareem Ghaida and Alex Baran. Do they try and get that pair on two of Shore's big guns in Al DeSantis and Mike McGhee, in what would be two huge marquee bouts? Then, does Shore accept those matchups? Or do they use a bump themselves to get some more favorable matchups for their pair.

There's potential again for a couple of back to back bouts between ranked opponents at 160/170 with Paul Santomarco and Matt Benedetti of Manalapan, and Jack McCrae and talented freshman Jamie Mazzacco.

Should be a very interesting dual, in a great Friday night atmosphere. And while there's nothing on the line in terms of division standings, depending what happens this weekend, the winner here could have a great argument to be Top 5 in the Shore.
