YORK COLLEGE SPARTAN INVITATIONAL
Ithaca's Blaine Woszczak (Wall '07) and TCNJ's Mike Denver (Central '07) won their respective weight classes as six SC Alumni in all earned Top 5 finishes at Saturday's York College Invitational in York, Pa.
Woszczak, currently the #1 ranked 149-pounder in all of Division 3, was dominant in his opening two bouts recording a pair of tech falls. A 4-1 decision over TCNJ's John Barnett in the semis and a 5-4 win in the finals over Williams' Cory Paulish gave Woszcak his 2nd tournament championship of the season and upped his record to 15-2. Woszczak was also voted as the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler.
Wrestling at 184, Denver was dominant in his run to his 3rd tournament championship. After breezing to a tech fall in his opener, Denver recorded a pair of decisions (9-3 and 7-2) in his next two bouts before pinning Alex Martocello of York in the finals. Denver is now 19-2 on the season.

Several Shore Conference Alumni were in action for Rutgers at the Sprawl & Brawl Duals in Binghamton, NY.
Joey Langel (Howell '08) and Lamar Brown (Red Bank Regional '05) both went 2-0 on the day for the Knights. Dan Seidenberg (Raritan '09) was 1-1 on the day with his win coming by fall and Sean DeDeyn (Central '06) won his lone bout of the day with a 1st period pin over Paul Schweighardt (Monmouth '07).

8th ranked Frank Molinaro (Southern '07) had a perfect day for Penn State at the Sprawl and Brawl. Molinaro picked up decision victories in all three of his bouts to help lead the Nittany Lions to a 3-0 day.

ESU Open
Two Shore Conference Alumni representing Delaware Valley College wrestled their way to 2nd place in their respective weight classes at this year's East Stroudsburg Open. Justin Barowski (Pt. Beach '05) went 4-1 on the day to take 2nd at 165, while Kyle Bilquist (TR South '04) went 3-1 to place 2nd at heavyweight.
Also at the ESU Open, Lehigh's Mitch Berger (Freehold Twp '07) went 4-2 in 125-pound weight class to finish in the top 6, while Del Val's Charlie Frankel (Marlboro '08) had a pair of wins, including a 30 second pin, while also competing at 125.
East Stroudsburg's Jeff Jacobs (Pt. Boro '06) went 4-2 in the 165-pound bracket to finish in the Top 6, while Martin Porter (Long Branch '05) of Del Val was 4-2 in the 197-pound bracket and placed in the Top 8.
Doug Parker Invitational @ Springfield
Centenary's Dave Alsieux (Manasquan ' 06) and Stevens' Joe Favia (CBA '08) placed 2nd and Ryan McGilvray (Manalapan '08) of Springfield placed 4th as three the Shore had three alumni earn medal's at this year's Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College.
Wrestling at 141, Alsieux picked up four wins, including a tech fall and a major, before dropping a close two-point decision in the finals. Favia also won his opening four bouts, two by fall, before losing a 7-4 decision to Vince Renault of USMMA in the 165-pound final.
McGilvray went 4-2, with two pins, in his 4th place finish.
Navy Classic
Bucknell freshman Derrik Russell (Jackson Memorial '09) won three bouts to place 6th in the 125-pound weight class at the Navy Classic.
Cornell Body Bar Invitational
Freshman Steve Santos (Brick Memorial '09) of Columbia went 3-2 to finish 4th in the 149-pound weight class of the Cornell Body Bar Invitational. The medal is Santos' 2nd in two weeks as he placed 2nd at last week's Binghamton Open.

Charlie Favia (CBA '05) of Stevens was 2-2 in the 157-pound bracket with a pin and a major. His two losses were both by one point.
Jeff Siciliano (Ocean Township '07) of Delaware Valley was 3-2 at 197 with two pins and a major. He finished one win shy of Top 6.
Stevens' Brian Schmalz (CBA '09) picked up his 1st collegiate win with a 5-4 OT victory over Bob Grogan of Princeton.
ACC Challenge
Nick Tenpenny (Central '07) and Danny Lopes (Ocean Township '06) were 2-0 on the day and Kyle Kiss (Ocean Township '07) split a pair of bouts as North Carolina defeated #16 American and Gardner-Webb, but dropped a 19-14 decision to Bucknell at the ACC Challenge in Chapel Hill on Sunday.
Of note from the Bucknell match was Tenpenny recording a major decision over 19th-ranked David Thompson at 184 pounds, while Bucknell's Derrik Russell (Jackson Memorial '09) picked up his first collegiate dual win with a 7-4 win over the Tarheels' Brian Bokoski.

Roger Williams Invitational
Johnson & Wales Andrew Van Dyk (Ocean Township '08) was 4-2 with three first period pins on the day as he took 4th place in the 149-pound weight class at the Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday.
Brockport Open
Rutgers' Joey Langel (Howell '08) and Lamar Brown (Red Bank Regional '05) both went 3-1 on their way to 2nd place finishes in their respective weight classes at Saturday's Brockport Open.
Langel recorded an impressive win in the 125-pound quarterfinal round when he rolled to a 7-0 victory over 14th ranked Nikko Triggas of Ohio State. His loss in the finals came to 11th ranked Eric Morrill of Edinboro, 7-3.

Brandon Lintner (Pinelands '09) made his collegiate debut on Saturday wrestling for West Virginia at the Washington & Jefferson Open. Lintner was 2-2 on the day in the 165-pound weight class and also registered his first collegiate pin when he pressed Mount St. Joseph's Josh Stivers 27 seconds into the final period.

Ithaca's Blaine Woszczak (Wall '07), ranked 2nd at 149 in Division 3, went 2-0 as his 3rd-ranked Bombers swept their four matches at the John Reese Duals on Saturday.

Freshmen Mike Tancredi (Wall '09) and Scott Forrester (Manchester '09) picked up key wins to help push McDaniel College past York College on Wednesday night.
Tancredi was victorious at 141 with a 3-2 decision over freshman Chris Gugliotti, while Forrester picked up a key decision at 174 by defeating sophomore Paul Richards, 5-2.

McDANIEL LINK: McDaniel opens dual schedule with win
A pair of Shore Conference Alum were victorious in their wrestle-offs this past Saturday at Plymouth State University. Cody Oliverio (Brick Memorial '08) won by fall over Ryan Cunniff at 4:54 to lock up the 165-pound weight class, while Rob Phillips (Brick Memorial '07) scored a 2-1 OT decision over Kyle Moseley in the 184-pound wrestle-off. On to some more notes from the weekend...
Had a pair of SC Alumni making their collegiate debuts at the Hokie Open on Sunday in George Mason's Zach Huxford (Jackson Memorial '09) and Newberry's Brian Newman (TR North '09). Huxford went 2-2 at 125 winning his opening round bout before falling to another SC alum, Matt Oliver (TR North '07) in his 2nd match. Huxford added a major decision in the wrestlebacks before being eliminated.
Wrestling at 184, Newman was also 2-2 on the day with his first college win coming against another SC Alum, Andrew Rock (Freehold Boro '06) of George Mason.
Another Newberry wrestler, Cody Fobes (Howell '08), had a strong showing at 133 pounds. Fobes won his opening three bouts before losing to Ky Corley of North Carolina in the semifinals. Fobes finished the day at 3-2, one win shy of a Top 8 finish in the 41-man bracket.

As mentioned in Sunday's update, a pair of Howell alum, Joey Langel (Howell '08) and Harry Turner (Howell '08) had solid showings with Langel taking 2nd at 125 and Turner finishing 4th at heavyweight. Here's a look at how some other Shore Alumni fared at Clarion.
Derrik Russell (Jackson Memorial '09) had a nice start to his collegiate career recording three wins, including one by fall, in the 125-pound weight class for Bucknell. Also wrestling in the 125-pound bracket was Lehigh's Mitch Berger (Freehold Twp '07) who went 1-2 with both of his losses coming in overtime, including a 4-2 SV loss to Langel.
Also competing for Lehigh at 174 pounds was Dave Chirichello (CBA '06) who recorded three wins on the day.
For Rutgers, Dave Seidenberg (Raritan '07) picked up a pair of wins at 157 and brother Dan (Raritan '09) won his opening three contests before injury defaulting out.
In wrestle-off news, Mark Maestrey (TR South '09) defeated fellow freshman Trent Herold, 9-7, in the 125-pound wrestle-off for St. Cloud State University. The Huskies open their season this weekend at the NorthWestern Duals in Evanston, Illinois.

Still waiting on brackets from the Clarion Open. Lots of SC alum in action in that one, so when I get the info, I'll break it down on this page.
Couple of things I do know from Clarion is that Lock Haven's Harry Turner (Howell '08) wrestled up a weight class and took 4th at heavyweight, while fellow Rebel alum Joey Langel (Howell '08) of Rutgers placed 2nd at 125. Also placing for Rutgers was Dan Seidenberg (Raritan '09) who placed 3rd at 174. When I get more, I'll post it.

Four From The Shore Help Lead TCNJ to Program Win #600!
Danny Franke (Freehold Boro '06), Ed Broderick (Southern '07), Brian Broderick (Southern '09), and Mike Denver (Central '07) all recorded victories as TCNJ picked up the 600th win in program history, and 500th for head coach Dave Icenhower, in a 53-0 victory over Norwich this afternoon.

TCNJ's Brian Broderick recorded his first collegiate win with a 1st period pin at 174 pounds.
At the Messiah Invitational in Grantham, Pa. SC Alumni Billy Meaney (Manchester '07) of Elizabethtown and Mike Kevlin (St. John Vianney '09) of Ursinus wrestled their way to 3rd place finishes in their respective weight classes.
Seeded 4th at 174 pounds, Kevlin dropped his opening bout before reeling off five straight wins, including two majors and a fall, to capture 3rd place. Kevlin's first win came against another SC Alum making his collegiate debut, Scott Forrester (Manchester '09) of McDaniel.
Also seeded 4th, Meaney went 3-1 with two majors to take 3rd place at 197 pounds.
Mike Tancredi (Wall '09) also saw his first college action for McDaniel going 3-2 at 141 pounds.
Wilson, Rash Earn Medals at Kings College Tournament
Ryan Wilson (Wall '07) and Christopher Rash (Freehold Twp '06) both earned medals at Saturday's Monarch Inviatational at King's College. Wrestling for the host school, Rash won his opening three bouts (2 majors and an OT decision) before dropping a 7-4 decision to Bobby Christopher of Gettysburg in the finals to claim 2nd place.
Wilson, wrestling for Wilkes, lost his opening bout in the 133-pound weight class, but went on to win his next six bouts to place 3rd.
Other Shore Conference Alumni that competed in the Monarch were Scranton teammates Vin Signoriello (Manalapan '09) and Mike Murcia (St. John Vianney '09). Murcia came one win short of a Top 6 finish by going 4-2 at 125 pounds. Signoriello was 2-2 at 133 pounds with both of his wins coming by major decision.

Freshman Steve Santos (Brick Memorial '09) appears to have claimed a spot in the starting lineup at 149 pounds for the Columbia Lions with a pair of wins in last night's Blue vs. White wrestle-offs. Santos opened the evening with a 5-0 win over sophomore Steve Strumwasser. In a 2nd bout later in the evening, Santos registered a 3-2 decision over junior Nick Standish.
Returning All-American Frank Molinaro (Southern '07) was in action at the Penn State wrestle-offs on Thursday night. Molinaro, ranked 6th in the country at 141 pounds, wrestled up a weight class and majored freshman James English, 12-4. Molinaro is expected to start the season up at 149, as returning starter Bubba Jenkins is currently ineligible, but could be back down to 141 for the 2nd half of the season.

TJ Mitchell (Raritan '07) was victorious in his 133 pound weight class wrestle off for Liberty University. Mitchell, a redshirt sophomore, defeated senior Sean Katz (the starter at 125 last season) by major decision.

At the Lehigh wrestle-offs, junior Mitch Berger (Freehold Twp '07) mounted a late 3rd period comeback, but fell short in his bid for the starting spot at 125, dropping a 7-6 decision to returning starter John McDonald.

Sal Musto (CBA '07) competed in a wrestle-off at 165 pounds for Arizona State. Musto, a redshirt sophomore, dropped a decision to returning starter Kyle DeBerry.
ARIZONA STATE: Maroon Wins 6-of-9 Matches to Defeat Gold, 19-10, at ASU Wrestle-Offs
Down at Shore Conference South, aka Newberry College, four Shore Conference Wrestling alum took part in Newberry's wrestle-offs. Matt Oliver (TR North '07), Dave Newman (TR North '07), Brian Newman (TR North '09), and Cody Fobes (Howell '08) all saw action on Saturday night.

YORK COLLEGE SPARTAN INVITATIONAL
Ithaca's Blaine Woszczak (Wall '07) and TCNJ's Mike Denver (Central '07) won their respective weight classes as six SC Alumni in all earned Top 5 finishes at Saturday's York College Invitational in York, Pa.
Woszczak, currently the #1 ranked 149-pounder in all of Division 3, was dominant in his opening two bouts recording a pair of tech falls. A 4-1 decision over TCNJ's John Barnett in the semis and a 5-4 win in the finals over Williams' Cory Paulish gave Woszcak his 2nd tournament championship of the season and upped his record to 15-2. Woszczak was also voted as the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler.
Wrestling at 184, Denver was dominant in his run to his 3rd tournament championship. After breezing to a tech fall in his opener, Denver recorded a pair of decisions (9-3 and 7-2) in his next two bouts before pinning Alex Martocello of York in the finals. Denver is now 19-2 on the season.

Rutgers @ Sprawl and Brawl
Several Shore Conference Alumni were in action for Rutgers at the Sprawl & Brawl Duals in Binghamton, NY.
Joey Langel (Howell '08) and Lamar Brown (Red Bank Regional '05) both went 2-0 on the day for the Knights. Dan Seidenberg (Raritan '09) was 1-1 on the day with his win coming by fall and Sean DeDeyn (Central '06) won his lone bout of the day with a 1st period pin over Paul Schweighardt (Monmouth '07).
RUTGERS LINK: RU Wrestling Captures Two Wins at Sprawl and Brawl Duals
8th ranked Frank Molinaro (Southern '07) had a perfect day for Penn State at the Sprawl and Brawl. Molinaro picked up decision victories in all three of his bouts to help lead the Nittany Lions to a 3-0 day.

ESU Open
Two Shore Conference Alumni representing Delaware Valley College wrestled their way to 2nd place in their respective weight classes at this year's East Stroudsburg Open. Justin Barowski (Pt. Beach '05) went 4-1 on the day to take 2nd at 165, while Kyle Bilquist (TR South '04) went 3-1 to place 2nd at heavyweight.
Also at the ESU Open, Lehigh's Mitch Berger (Freehold Twp '07) went 4-2 in 125-pound weight class to finish in the top 6, while Del Val's Charlie Frankel (Marlboro '08) had a pair of wins, including a 30 second pin, while also competing at 125.
East Stroudsburg's Jeff Jacobs (Pt. Boro '06) went 4-2 in the 165-pound bracket to finish in the Top 6, while Martin Porter (Long Branch '05) of Del Val was 4-2 in the 197-pound bracket and placed in the Top 8.
Doug Parker Invitational @ Springfield
Centenary's Dave Alsieux (Manasquan ' 06) and Stevens' Joe Favia (CBA '08) placed 2nd and Ryan McGilvray (Manalapan '08) of Springfield placed 4th as three the Shore had three alumni earn medal's at this year's Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College.
Wrestling at 141, Alsieux picked up four wins, including a tech fall and a major, before dropping a close two-point decision in the finals. Favia also won his opening four bouts, two by fall, before losing a 7-4 decision to Vince Renault of USMMA in the 165-pound final.
McGilvray went 4-2, with two pins, in his 4th place finish.
Navy Classic
Bucknell freshman Derrik Russell (Jackson Memorial '09) won three bouts to place 6th in the 125-pound weight class at the Navy Classic.
Cornell Body Bar Invitational
Freshman Steve Santos (Brick Memorial '09) of Columbia went 3-2 to finish 4th in the 149-pound weight class of the Cornell Body Bar Invitational. The medal is Santos' 2nd in two weeks as he placed 2nd at last week's Binghamton Open.

Delaware Valley's Charlie Frankel (Marlboro '08) had a pair of pins in the 125-pound bracket.
Charlie Favia (CBA '05) of Stevens was 2-2 in the 157-pound bracket with a pin and a major. His two losses were both by one point.
Jeff Siciliano (Ocean Township '07) of Delaware Valley was 3-2 at 197 with two pins and a major. He finished one win shy of Top 6.
Stevens' Brian Schmalz (CBA '09) picked up his 1st collegiate win with a 5-4 OT victory over Bob Grogan of Princeton.
ACC Challenge
Nick Tenpenny (Central '07) and Danny Lopes (Ocean Township '06) were 2-0 on the day and Kyle Kiss (Ocean Township '07) split a pair of bouts as North Carolina defeated #16 American and Gardner-Webb, but dropped a 19-14 decision to Bucknell at the ACC Challenge in Chapel Hill on Sunday.
Of note from the Bucknell match was Tenpenny recording a major decision over 19th-ranked David Thompson at 184 pounds, while Bucknell's Derrik Russell (Jackson Memorial '09) picked up his first collegiate dual win with a 7-4 win over the Tarheels' Brian Bokoski.
NORTH CAROLINA LINK: Tar Heels Take Two At ACC Challenge
Roger Williams Invitational
Johnson & Wales Andrew Van Dyk (Ocean Township '08) was 4-2 with three first period pins on the day as he took 4th place in the 149-pound weight class at the Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday.
Brockport Open
Rutgers' Joey Langel (Howell '08) and Lamar Brown (Red Bank Regional '05) both went 3-1 on their way to 2nd place finishes in their respective weight classes at Saturday's Brockport Open.
Langel recorded an impressive win in the 125-pound quarterfinal round when he rolled to a 7-0 victory over 14th ranked Nikko Triggas of Ohio State. His loss in the finals came to 11th ranked Eric Morrill of Edinboro, 7-3.

Newberry's Matt Oliver (TR North '07) went 4-0, including two techs and a major, to win the 125-pound weight class at the 2009 UNC Pembroke Wrestling Classic on Saturday. The four wins ups Oliver's record to 8-1 on the season.

Washington & Jefferson Open
Brandon Lintner (Pinelands '09) made his collegiate debut on Saturday wrestling for West Virginia at the Washington & Jefferson Open. Lintner was 2-2 on the day in the 165-pound weight class and also registered his first collegiate pin when he pressed Mount St. Joseph's Josh Stivers 27 seconds into the final period.
John Reese Duals at Wilkes
Ithaca's Blaine Woszczak (Wall '07), ranked 2nd at 149 in Division 3, went 2-0 as his 3rd-ranked Bombers swept their four matches at the John Reese Duals on Saturday.

Freshmen Mike Tancredi (Wall '09) and Scott Forrester (Manchester '09) picked up key wins to help push McDaniel College past York College on Wednesday night.
Tancredi was victorious at 141 with a 3-2 decision over freshman Chris Gugliotti, while Forrester picked up a key decision at 174 by defeating sophomore Paul Richards, 5-2.

McDANIEL LINK: McDaniel opens dual schedule with win
A pair of Shore Conference Alum were victorious in their wrestle-offs this past Saturday at Plymouth State University. Cody Oliverio (Brick Memorial '08) won by fall over Ryan Cunniff at 4:54 to lock up the 165-pound weight class, while Rob Phillips (Brick Memorial '07) scored a 2-1 OT decision over Kyle Moseley in the 184-pound wrestle-off. On to some more notes from the weekend...
Had a pair of SC Alumni making their collegiate debuts at the Hokie Open on Sunday in George Mason's Zach Huxford (Jackson Memorial '09) and Newberry's Brian Newman (TR North '09). Huxford went 2-2 at 125 winning his opening round bout before falling to another SC alum, Matt Oliver (TR North '07) in his 2nd match. Huxford added a major decision in the wrestlebacks before being eliminated.
Wrestling at 184, Newman was also 2-2 on the day with his first college win coming against another SC Alum, Andrew Rock (Freehold Boro '06) of George Mason.
Another Newberry wrestler, Cody Fobes (Howell '08), had a strong showing at 133 pounds. Fobes won his opening three bouts before losing to Ky Corley of North Carolina in the semifinals. Fobes finished the day at 3-2, one win shy of a Top 8 finish in the 41-man bracket.

As mentioned in Sunday's update, a pair of Howell alum, Joey Langel (Howell '08) and Harry Turner (Howell '08) had solid showings with Langel taking 2nd at 125 and Turner finishing 4th at heavyweight. Here's a look at how some other Shore Alumni fared at Clarion.
Derrik Russell (Jackson Memorial '09) had a nice start to his collegiate career recording three wins, including one by fall, in the 125-pound weight class for Bucknell. Also wrestling in the 125-pound bracket was Lehigh's Mitch Berger (Freehold Twp '07) who went 1-2 with both of his losses coming in overtime, including a 4-2 SV loss to Langel.
Also competing for Lehigh at 174 pounds was Dave Chirichello (CBA '06) who recorded three wins on the day.
For Rutgers, Dave Seidenberg (Raritan '07) picked up a pair of wins at 157 and brother Dan (Raritan '09) won his opening three contests before injury defaulting out.
In wrestle-off news, Mark Maestrey (TR South '09) defeated fellow freshman Trent Herold, 9-7, in the 125-pound wrestle-off for St. Cloud State University. The Huskies open their season this weekend at the NorthWestern Duals in Evanston, Illinois.

Still waiting on brackets from the Clarion Open. Lots of SC alum in action in that one, so when I get the info, I'll break it down on this page.
Couple of things I do know from Clarion is that Lock Haven's Harry Turner (Howell '08) wrestled up a weight class and took 4th at heavyweight, while fellow Rebel alum Joey Langel (Howell '08) of Rutgers placed 2nd at 125. Also placing for Rutgers was Dan Seidenberg (Raritan '09) who placed 3rd at 174. When I get more, I'll post it.

Four From The Shore Help Lead TCNJ to Program Win #600!
Danny Franke (Freehold Boro '06), Ed Broderick (Southern '07), Brian Broderick (Southern '09), and Mike Denver (Central '07) all recorded victories as TCNJ picked up the 600th win in program history, and 500th for head coach Dave Icenhower, in a 53-0 victory over Norwich this afternoon.

TCNJ's Brian Broderick recorded his first collegiate win with a 1st period pin at 174 pounds.
At the Messiah Invitational in Grantham, Pa. SC Alumni Billy Meaney (Manchester '07) of Elizabethtown and Mike Kevlin (St. John Vianney '09) of Ursinus wrestled their way to 3rd place finishes in their respective weight classes.
Seeded 4th at 174 pounds, Kevlin dropped his opening bout before reeling off five straight wins, including two majors and a fall, to capture 3rd place. Kevlin's first win came against another SC Alum making his collegiate debut, Scott Forrester (Manchester '09) of McDaniel.
Also seeded 4th, Meaney went 3-1 with two majors to take 3rd place at 197 pounds.
Mike Tancredi (Wall '09) also saw his first college action for McDaniel going 3-2 at 141 pounds.
Wilson, Rash Earn Medals at Kings College Tournament
Ryan Wilson (Wall '07) and Christopher Rash (Freehold Twp '06) both earned medals at Saturday's Monarch Inviatational at King's College. Wrestling for the host school, Rash won his opening three bouts (2 majors and an OT decision) before dropping a 7-4 decision to Bobby Christopher of Gettysburg in the finals to claim 2nd place.
Wilson, wrestling for Wilkes, lost his opening bout in the 133-pound weight class, but went on to win his next six bouts to place 3rd.
Other Shore Conference Alumni that competed in the Monarch were Scranton teammates Vin Signoriello (Manalapan '09) and Mike Murcia (St. John Vianney '09). Murcia came one win short of a Top 6 finish by going 4-2 at 125 pounds. Signoriello was 2-2 at 133 pounds with both of his wins coming by major decision.

RUTGERS LINK: Ranked Brown back in circle after redshirt

Freshman Steve Santos (Brick Memorial '09) appears to have claimed a spot in the starting lineup at 149 pounds for the Columbia Lions with a pair of wins in last night's Blue vs. White wrestle-offs. Santos opened the evening with a 5-0 win over sophomore Steve Strumwasser. In a 2nd bout later in the evening, Santos registered a 3-2 decision over junior Nick Standish.
Returning All-American Frank Molinaro (Southern '07) was in action at the Penn State wrestle-offs on Thursday night. Molinaro, ranked 6th in the country at 141 pounds, wrestled up a weight class and majored freshman James English, 12-4. Molinaro is expected to start the season up at 149, as returning starter Bubba Jenkins is currently ineligible, but could be back down to 141 for the 2nd half of the season.

A few wrestle-off results to report on from this weekend.
TJ Mitchell (Raritan '07) was victorious in his 133 pound weight class wrestle off for Liberty University. Mitchell, a redshirt sophomore, defeated senior Sean Katz (the starter at 125 last season) by major decision.

At the Lehigh wrestle-offs, junior Mitch Berger (Freehold Twp '07) mounted a late 3rd period comeback, but fell short in his bid for the starting spot at 125, dropping a 7-6 decision to returning starter John McDonald.
LEHIGH LINK: Lehigh showcases depth at annual wrestle-offs
Sal Musto (CBA '07) competed in a wrestle-off at 165 pounds for Arizona State. Musto, a redshirt sophomore, dropped a decision to returning starter Kyle DeBerry.
ARIZONA STATE: Maroon Wins 6-of-9 Matches to Defeat Gold, 19-10, at ASU Wrestle-Offs
Down at Shore Conference South, aka Newberry College, four Shore Conference Wrestling alum took part in Newberry's wrestle-offs. Matt Oliver (TR North '07), Dave Newman (TR North '07), Brian Newman (TR North '09), and Cody Fobes (Howell '08) all saw action on Saturday night.

Sal Musto (CBA '07) will be wrestling off for a starting spot in the Arizona State lineup at 165 pounds on Friday night. His matchup with returning starter Te Edwards is quickly previewed in the link below.

Mitch Berger (Freehold Twp '07) will also be involved in a wrestle off on Friday night as he takes on returning starter John McDonald for a starting spot in the Lehigh lineup.

And speaking of wrestle-offs, the annual Scarlet and Black wrestle-offs at Rutgers is scheduled for Monday night at the College Avenue Gym. No set matchups yet, but several SC alum will be in action. First match is scheduled for 6:00pm.
