3/14: Oliver Earns All-American Honors At Newberry
Newberry College sophomore Matt Oliver (TR North '07) finished in 3rd place of the 125-pound weight class at the 2009 NCAA Division 2 National Championships in Houston, Texas to earn All-American honors.
Oliver joins Blaine Woszczak (Wall '07), Kyle Bilquist (TR South '04), Justin Persico (Middletown North '08), and Karon Reid (Brick Memorial '08) as Shore Conference Wrestling alumni earning All-American honors at the college level this season. Woszczak and Bilquist reached All-American at the Division 3 level, while Persico and Reid earned NJCWA All-American honors. Congratulations to all five.
Scott Winston (Jackson Memorial '08) and Frank Molinaro (Southern '07) will be in action this beginning this Thursday for the NCAA Division 1 National Championships in St. Louis.

3/8: Winston Qualifies For NCAA's
Rutgers freshman Scott Winston (Jackson Memorial '08) finished in 3rd place in the 157-pound weight class of the EIWA Tournament to earn himself an automatic bid into the 2009 NCAA National Championships. Winston was 4-1 on the weekend with three decisions and a win by fall in the 3rd place bout. Winston's lone loss came to top-seeded JP O'Connor of Harvard, 4-2, who is currently ranked 4th in the nation.

3/8: Molinaro Finishes 8th at Big 10 Championships
Redshirt freshman Frank Molinaro (Southern '07) fnished in 8th place at the 2009 Big 10 Conference Championships on Sunday finishing one victory short of a guaranteed bid to the NCAA Tournament. Molinaro's NCAA hopes remain however, as wild cards for the Big 10 will be selected on Wednesday.

2/28: Oliver Wins Super-Region To Qualify For National Championships
Newberry's Matt Oliver (TR North '07), recorded three major decisions and received a medical forfeit in the finals to claim the 125-pound championship in the NCAA Division 2 Super-Region Championships in Erie, Pennsylvania over the weekend. With the championship, Oliver now qualifies for the Division 2 National Championships to be held on March 13th and 14th in Houston, Texas.
This is the 2nd time Oliver has qualified for the National Championships in as many years.
Congratulations and best of luck to Matt in his bid to become an All-American!

2/28: Persico & Reid Earns All-American Honors
Wrestling for Middlesex County College, Justin Persico (Middltown North '08) finished in 6th place in the 174-pound bracket of the NJCAA National Championships in Rochester, Minnesota on Saturday. With the 6th place finish, Persico earned All-American honors.
Iowa Lakes CC's Karon Reid (Brick Memorial '08) finished in 3rd place at 157 pounds to earn All-American honors as well.

1/17: Woszczak Takes 4th @ NY State Meet
Ithaca sophomore Blaine Woszczak (Wall '07) went 3-2 on the day, with two pins, to take 4th place in the 149-pound division at the 40th Annual New York State Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships. Woszcak's final win of the tourney gave him exactly 50 for his collegiate career. For the season, he is 24-6.

Newberry College freshman Cody Fobes (Howell '08) took 1st Place in the 141-pound weight class of the Spartanburg Methodist College Open on Saturday. Teammate Dave Newman (TR North '07) also took home a championship, winning the 197-pound weight class. Fobes and Newman, two of five Shore Conference Wrestling alumni competing at Newberry, are redshirting this season.

1/17: Mitchell and Porter Win Titles At Messiah Open
Liberty's TJ Mitchell (Raritan '07) and Delaware Valley's Martin Porter (Long Branch '05) wrestled their way to individual titles at the Messiah Open this past weekend.
Mitchell, who is redshirting for Liberty this season, won the 133-pound bracket. Porter went 3-0, including a 32 second pin in the finals, to claim the 197-pound title.

Plymouth State Frosh Cody Oliverio (Brick Memorial '08) went 4-1 on the day to finish 3rd in the 165-pound bracket of the Plymouth State University Invitational. For the year, Oliverio is 12-5 with six pins for the Panthers.

1/10: Christensen Finishes 2nd at PSU Invitational
Junior Kyle Christensen (Monmouth '06) went 2-1 in the 125-pound bracket of the Plymouth State University Inivitational on Saturday to finish in 2nd place. Christensen is 19-12 for New York University this season and also place 5th at the RIT Invitational earlier in the year.

1/10: Quinn and Keshecki Go 3-0 for Wagner at Virginia Duals
Sean Quinn (Southern '05) and Nick Keshecki (Jackson Memorial '05) went unbeaten and Jason Mandragona (Matawan '08) was 1-2 for Wagner College as the Seahawks picked up their first win of the season as part of a 1-2 day at the Virginia Duals.

Newberry College sophomore Matt Oliver (TR North '07) finished in 3rd place of the 125-pound weight class at the 2009 NCAA Division 2 National Championships in Houston, Texas to earn All-American honors.
Oliver joins Blaine Woszczak (Wall '07), Kyle Bilquist (TR South '04), Justin Persico (Middletown North '08), and Karon Reid (Brick Memorial '08) as Shore Conference Wrestling alumni earning All-American honors at the college level this season. Woszczak and Bilquist reached All-American at the Division 3 level, while Persico and Reid earned NJCWA All-American honors. Congratulations to all five.
Scott Winston (Jackson Memorial '08) and Frank Molinaro (Southern '07) will be in action this beginning this Thursday for the NCAA Division 1 National Championships in St. Louis.

3/8: Winston Qualifies For NCAA's
Rutgers freshman Scott Winston (Jackson Memorial '08) finished in 3rd place in the 157-pound weight class of the EIWA Tournament to earn himself an automatic bid into the 2009 NCAA National Championships. Winston was 4-1 on the weekend with three decisions and a win by fall in the 3rd place bout. Winston's lone loss came to top-seeded JP O'Connor of Harvard, 4-2, who is currently ranked 4th in the nation.

3/8: Molinaro Finishes 8th at Big 10 Championships
Redshirt freshman Frank Molinaro (Southern '07) fnished in 8th place at the 2009 Big 10 Conference Championships on Sunday finishing one victory short of a guaranteed bid to the NCAA Tournament. Molinaro's NCAA hopes remain however, as wild cards for the Big 10 will be selected on Wednesday.

2/28: Oliver Wins Super-Region To Qualify For National Championships
Newberry's Matt Oliver (TR North '07), recorded three major decisions and received a medical forfeit in the finals to claim the 125-pound championship in the NCAA Division 2 Super-Region Championships in Erie, Pennsylvania over the weekend. With the championship, Oliver now qualifies for the Division 2 National Championships to be held on March 13th and 14th in Houston, Texas.
This is the 2nd time Oliver has qualified for the National Championships in as many years.
Congratulations and best of luck to Matt in his bid to become an All-American!

2/28: Persico & Reid Earns All-American Honors
Wrestling for Middlesex County College, Justin Persico (Middltown North '08) finished in 6th place in the 174-pound bracket of the NJCAA National Championships in Rochester, Minnesota on Saturday. With the 6th place finish, Persico earned All-American honors.
Iowa Lakes CC's Karon Reid (Brick Memorial '08) finished in 3rd place at 157 pounds to earn All-American honors as well.

1/17: Woszczak Takes 4th @ NY State Meet
Ithaca sophomore Blaine Woszczak (Wall '07) went 3-2 on the day, with two pins, to take 4th place in the 149-pound division at the 40th Annual New York State Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships. Woszcak's final win of the tourney gave him exactly 50 for his collegiate career. For the season, he is 24-6.

Newberry College freshman Cody Fobes (Howell '08) took 1st Place in the 141-pound weight class of the Spartanburg Methodist College Open on Saturday. Teammate Dave Newman (TR North '07) also took home a championship, winning the 197-pound weight class. Fobes and Newman, two of five Shore Conference Wrestling alumni competing at Newberry, are redshirting this season.

1/17: Mitchell and Porter Win Titles At Messiah Open
Liberty's TJ Mitchell (Raritan '07) and Delaware Valley's Martin Porter (Long Branch '05) wrestled their way to individual titles at the Messiah Open this past weekend.
Mitchell, who is redshirting for Liberty this season, won the 133-pound bracket. Porter went 3-0, including a 32 second pin in the finals, to claim the 197-pound title.

1/11: Woszczak Goes 5-0 for Ithaca at Budd Whitehall Duals
Ithaca sophomore Blaine Woszczak (Wall '07) went unbeaten with a pin, two techs, and two decisions, to help lead the Bombers to a 2nd place finish at the Budd Whitehall National Duals at Lycoming College. With his 5-0 performance, Woszczak improved to 21-4 on the year with seven pins and four techs, and is 11-0 in duals.

Ryan McGilvray (Manalapan '08) and Oscar Orellana (Lakewood '05) were in the lineup for Springfield College as the Pride went 4-2 as a team to finish in 7th at the Budd Whitehill National Duals at Lycoming.

Plymouth State Frosh Cody Oliverio (Brick Memorial '08) went 4-1 on the day to finish 3rd in the 165-pound bracket of the Plymouth State University Invitational. For the year, Oliverio is 12-5 with six pins for the Panthers.

1/10: Christensen Finishes 2nd at PSU Invitational
Junior Kyle Christensen (Monmouth '06) went 2-1 in the 125-pound bracket of the Plymouth State University Inivitational on Saturday to finish in 2nd place. Christensen is 19-12 for New York University this season and also place 5th at the RIT Invitational earlier in the year.

Sean Quinn (Southern '05) and Nick Keshecki (Jackson Memorial '05) went unbeaten and Jason Mandragona (Matawan '08) was 1-2 for Wagner College as the Seahawks picked up their first win of the season as part of a 1-2 day at the Virginia Duals.
