ED
GAR DOMINATES PENN

Proving his victory in their first fight was no fluke, Frank "The Answer" Edgar (TR East '2000), successfully defended his UFC Lightweight Championship on Saturday night by dominating former champ BJ Penn for the 2nd time in four months.  Edgar, who won the title from Penn back on April 10th, took Penn down early and often and scored several strong shots on his feet on his way to winning by unanimous decision.

With the win, Edgar improved his record 13-1.  For more on Edgar's win, check the links below.

Few things as it's been a few weeks...

1. Had some computer problems and as a result I did not, and will not, receive any emails that may have been sent over the past 2-3 weeks.  So if I missed something, please hit me up again.

2. I've begun adding schedules for this upcoming season on each team's respective pages.  So far I've posted Barnegat - Howell and I should get the rest up this weekend.  Obviously more dates will be added, switched, dropped, etc.  Nice looking quad set up for January 22nd as Howell hosts TR South, Southern, and Ocean in a quad that could possibly have a couple hosting slots for the SCT on the line.  Of course that's looking WAY ahead, but that stuck out through the first batch of schedules I have up.

Couple other interesting dates include Brick Memorial traveling to PBurg on 1/22 and visiting Ocean on 1/15 in a quad with Montville and Middletown North.  I'll take a little better look at some of the key dates once I have all the schedules up.

3. Still looking for Greg Velasco's win total from his freshman season, or if anyone has his overall total please send me an email so I can add him to the list of those closing in on 100 wins in 2011.

4. Rex Ryan needs his own sitcom once Hard Knocks is over.

Thursday, July 22nd

Congratulations go out to Tyler Fraley and Billy George on Top 8 finishes in the Junior Greco-Roman Championships at Fargo.

Fraley won the 112-pound National Championship, while George placed 7th at 189.  Congratulations to both wrestlers.

The early breakdown on possible returners and wrestlers who graduated in 2010 are now finished on each team page.  Still need to add a couple more things to some of the history pages, and I'll gradually add a little more to each of the team pages as we look waaaayyyy ahead to the 2010-2011 season.

I need to create new division pages to reflect the re-alignment for this upcoming season.  Until I get to that, here's a reminder list of who is where for next season and 2011-2012:

A-North: CBA / Howell / Free Twp / Manalapan / Marlboro  / Middletown North / Middletown South
A-Central: Holmdel / Matawan / Raritan / Red Bank Reg / Rumson / Shore Reg / St. John Vianney
A-South: Brick Memorial / Jackson Memorial / Southern / TR East / TR North / TR South
B-North: Colts Neck / Freehold Boro / Long Branch / Monmouth Reg / Neptune / Ocean Township / RBC
B-Central: Asbury Park / Keansburg / Keyport / Pt. Beach / St. Rose
B-South: Barnegat / Brick Twp / Central / Lacey / Manchester / Pinelands
C-Central: Jackson Liberty / Lakewood / Manasquan / Monsignor Donovan / Pt. Boro / Wall

Finally, my email was down over the weekend. So if you sent me anything, there's a very good chance I didn't receive it.  Sorry about that.
